I believe fall is a magical time of the year. The long days of summer gradually become shorter and there is an undeniable crispness in the morning air that awakens the senses. The leaves on the trees, as if on cue, start changing colors and fall. Suddenly, pumpkins appear everywhere! How does this happen? I know there are scientific and logical explanations for all of this however, I prefer to believe it is magic.
As children, we are led to believe that leprechauns and the Easter bunny exists and that Santa is watching us all year long just so he can bring us presents if we are good boys and girls. The fact that millions of parents encourage this for years means that either they are delusional (ha!) or that they enjoy a little magic too.
Many adults seem to lose the “magic” and play in their lives as they get older. The stress of work, bills, and etc cause them to shut down emotionally and get in a rut that affects every aspect of their lives.
The key to remember is that magic still exists everyday. I like many others have recently experienced health and financial troubles. However, I “chose” not to dwell in the fear, drama, and uncertainty of my future. We have a choice in how we respond to life’s daily challenges and whether to see the glass as half empty or half full. Personal health, relationship issues, financial troubles and anything else you may experience is an opportunity for introspection and change on many levels. Many people are afraid of change and it usually takes a crisis of some sort to wake us up and make us realize that we are stuck in unhealthy habits.
We are creative, magical beings and when we forget or ignore that aspect of our lives, challenges will eventually occur. Somehow, regardless of the situation, challenges create the energy that we need to....change. Is that magic, perhaps not, but I am “choosing” to believe that it is. Life’s challenges allow us to dig deeper within, to connect with the part of us that is wise and stronger beyond our dreams. For me magic does exist and it is up to me to awaken that part of myself that allows the magic to happen. The same holds true for all of us.
You might be asking “How do I get the magic back in my life?” Magic can only occur when you are grounded and more connected with your body, mind, and spirit. The first step is to get back in touch with your self. I can help teach you how to open your energy centers with simple exercises and techniques. This combined with massage and energy work can start you on the road to a healthier, happier life.
